Taxi ride

Her cellphone illuminated the darkness. The taxi was silent except for the sound of the meter running and the rain pattering against it. She was texting from what I could see. She seem to be deep in her cellphone, considering the fact she didn’t notice the taxi stop. Suddenly, she closed her cellphone, sat back and sighed. “Why do I even try.” I looked back and said “What’s wrong? You okay?” She stopped , stared at me for a moment and said “I’m fine really.” I turned fully around and said “Really what’s wrong?” She said “Well, my boyfriend just dumped me.” I looked curious and replied “Over the phone? That’s harsh.” She pouted “He could of at least told me in person.” I looked at her consolingly “What’s your name?” She blushed and replied “Alicia.” I smiled and said “Well, You don’t look to happy. Maybe I could cheer you up. I’ll treat you to McDonald’s.” She smiled too “I’d like that.” I bought her a big mac and she smiled and said “Thank you.” My eyes twinkled as I replied “Your welcome…… Alicia.”
