I can relate. I’ve had my last name mispronounced every first day of school since kindergarten. In my med school class we had 3 Tim’s, so we became The Mighty Tim, Asian Tim, and Jason Steele. I have no idea where the last Tim came up with that, honestly.

Ah, name confusion. It doesn’t happen just to people bestowed with long last names, either. Happens to me quite often, and it’s not that long.

(by the way: yes, you can spin the tale of another pen name if you so choose, just let us know where you’re known by that name)
(And, just for my own self… would Reinier be pronounced something along the lines of rey-ni-er?)
