Though, thoughtfully, most folks I know who ‘feel’ – ie don’t feel – that way are more of the depressed so much they no longer want to feel variety. In which case, what THX said.

As for writing – poignant, emotional. The ‘journal’ style is very fitting. Not sure how much of a story it is, though, but it would make an awesome intro to something.
