The plan had worked flawlessly. Mephisto had planted the fake ID of Beth Ann Sprock, Texas Arborreal Rehabilitation Director into one of the police officers attempting to discontinue the haywire mech. She could hardly believe that the tracers got a hit just 3 minutes later. The files were being accessed by what was undoubtedly a fake identity, but a fake identity with a network address that was registered to an apartment just 4 blocks away. Mephisto was sure that her job, at a minimum, would be in jeopardy if she didn’t go check out the address. She set out at once, weaving her way through the alleys to get to the building.

Meph’s job was to uncover Scavengers who were erasing the private debts of individuals to the MegaCorps that granted them life and provided for their well being. It was likely that the individuals were paying the Scavengers large sums (of Corporate money!) to erase their debts.

Two months of tracking led her to the apartment, but she was fresh out of Plan. She threw the flare ’nade.
