Missing Dream - 2
Her door was open. I ran in calling her name. I went straight to her empty room. Another open door. I had never noticed that door before! I went through to find a long dim hallway and there she was, standing facing away at the end. “Neha!”, I called. She did not turn back. I started running towards her, screaming her name and thinking why in the hell isn’t she listening. When I was halfway she turned around, and I saw a little shiny thing slipping down her left cheek. She was smiling. I slowed down a bit, smiled and started again. This time even faster. But she seemed to drift away from me, like there was some kind of conveyor belt under her feet because she was not trying to move and still she was going away. I was confused and now running as fast as I could. I saw her lips part. I could not hear her but still knew she said, “I’m sorry”.
