the Sands of Time - part 1a - Soldiers Tale.
Lieutenant Andrew Lawton’s Personal Journal:
February 22nd, 2106, I was assigned here to vice admiral Peckham’s command, security detail at the mars relocation centers. I’ve never seen such a depressed group of human beings, it makes you wonder how we’re gonna pull through this. How did it get this bad? I mean I wasn’t on Earth. I was stationed with the Saturn defense group before this, and we only got vague reports about “atmospheric problems” back home, none of us knew what to make of it. Still don’t.
Thank God, for Admiral Peckham, the man is a rock. I think with men like him in charge, we might be able to do just about anything. I trust his leadership that much.
March 12th, 2106, First work on Mars outside of relocation center, reconnoitered the Chinese facility on planet, seems to be in good working order. The egg heads tell me we’ll be able to use this for water filtration, and recycling. All the better, the more we can take care of independently the less we suffer if … the worst should happen.
