What I Know
I KNOW that the sun shines every day, even if we can’t see it behind the clouds. I know that friends, true and good ones, are a treasure I deserve less than anyone, but one that I cling to like a beggar clinging to the world’s last crumb of bread. I know that there are some who do not receive this gift, and I cling tighter, claw savagely at the treasure, managing to hide the rage that hides a fear so deep and potent that I am afraid to let myself feel it. I know that love conquers all. I know that laughter heals. I know that I am special. I know that individuality remains one of the ties between humanity and the sublime. I know that life is to be revered, in all of its forms.
