I love it, and the part about being free to make your own pretends really stands out.

I like the content, and the way you lead up to the last rhyme throughout the poem. It’s a little difficult to read silently while recognizing the rhyme scheme, though – the meter and irregular syllable counts make it hard to get into a rhythm. That said, once I caved and read it aloud, I was impressed with the strong rhymes and the matching syllable counts in the rhyming lines – especially keeping everything so tightly tied to the poem’s theme.

All too often we don’t pass on the “pretend you’re like me”…great poem.
