Dead Stars
Where does a star go when it dies? To wait in the Stardust Place.
It’s where all the dead stars are, very much alive. They talk and walk and everywhere they go they leave tiny trails of glittery stuff behind them. Glittery stuff – it is softer and finer and smaller and it has a glow of it’s own so you can see it even in pitch darkness. The female stars sound like music when they talk, if we ever heard it that is all we would hear. But the male star’s voice sounds like an explosion, one that goes on and on, and starts again as soon as it begins to stop. But the sound would never hurt your ears. The stars wear cloaks made from a finer fabric than human hands have ever touched, the water they bathe in shines like crystals and drips like light.
The stars do not wait for us, mere pale beings, only for their chance to fly once again, up in the heavens, where all of the other stars rejoice.
