What is it about dolls that makes them so creepy when they’re headless or bodyless? Also (and how’s this for a digression?) this story reminded me of the end of The Big Lebowski, when Walter and The Dude are up on the cliff.
oh yes the sailor father was so chic back then.. I kind of had it in my mind that he was trying to save his family by going on some reckless business venture, when his ship capsized along with the family fortune… But you do what you think makes sense.
If a doll is both headless and bodyless.. why would that be creepy? Unless of course lack of a corporeal substance is by definition creepy. But without a head or body, would a doll be?
My Muse of Horror wished that the porcelain head had apologized for killing her father, and begged for its life. Anyway, that’s a ficly for another time.
And just for the record, Krully (yes, I referred to myself in the 3rd person) thinks porcelain dolls and clowns are CREEPY!
