First Run In
“Gabe, I’m sorry,” I say again. Gabe had been harassed by some juniors homophobes and I wasn’t there to help. I was too busy skipping with Stephen, but he couldn’t know that.
“Okay, Shay, whatever,” he says, but he only says that to cover up his feelings. I know how he’s feeling and feel really bad. He says he has to go and we hang up, I need to get my mind off things. I end up going to WaWa to buy a bag of Skittles, maybe Gabe’ll loosen up if I give him these. As I reach for the red bag, a familiar soft hand touches mine . I look up and find Stephen standing next to me.
“You’re a stalker aren’t you?” I ask.
“You eat Skittles?”
“They’re for Gabe, what are you doing here?”
“Getting some candy?”
“Okay, well I gotta go.” I say not wanting to see him right now.
“Come on, I’ll take you to back home,”
“Not going back home, and you drive?”
“Permits let you drive until 10 and its like 7,” Against my better judgement, there was something about him.
“Okay, but to Gabe’s house,” Maybe not the best idea…
