Ficly

How do you use this space?

Do you use it for its intended purpose, community-contributed storytelling? Fascinating idea, but the ego and jaw of creative types I know might harden at the prospect. Twitch a bit at a horrid or troll pre/sequel. Conversely, it’s not like your work and its pre/se are e-mailed to your closest friends/critics with your name slapped on it. Fic.ly could be like community brainstorming, where ideas are played with and given consideration.

Do you use it for its restrictions? 1024 is a deliciously brutal number, driving us to weigh words like we’d do for poetry; writing sharp, self-contained narratives or scenes that either feel satisfying in and of themselves or make us want more.

Or is it a notepad. A place to jot down short thoughts and ideas for feedback or storage?

So I ask again, how do you?
