My one nitpick, upon rereading it, is you use the word “sprang” a little too much, and a little weirdly. I mean, sounds don’t really “spring” from things—the word implies physicality, a sense of movement. But sounds don’t have that—plus you used the same word twice in the space of three sentences.

I’d consider changing those to two different things.

Done. In hindsight, I agree about the springing, even though I envisioned the phone metaphorically jumping out of her pocket. But I didn’t even catch the double word use, and I typically hate it when I repeat words.
