This is a very tense story. I like how you stressed the anxiousness of the story. is that a word?

anxiousness.. it is in my dictionary! Then again I have the Hoosier abridged version..

Anxiousness of anxiety, I suspect most folks would go for the latter but either would work.

Nice pacing, and realistic, most folks don’t go running unarmed against people with guns.
