Very funny little portrait of the nonconformist in a cult, as paradoxical as that is. There was a bit of repetition if the first paragraph that felt out of place, unless you just really wanted to drive home that he was wearing a mumu.
I disagree with with THX about the repetition of the mumu. It was stressing the absurdity of the mumu. My only complaint is that the last sentence kind of ruined it. It seemed like one punchline too many.
The repetitive mumu is fine, but for something this short might have been more amusing to emphasize another facet of the ritual which was just as absurd.
Personally don’t find anything wrong with the last punchline but if I’d been writing it myself might have made it a little less specific like,
NOTHING IS WRONGWITHTHEMUMU! Got to respect the artist, right? You wouldn’t say the Van Gogh, “Hey, you could’ve done with out so many swirly things, that’s just.. whack, man.” I like this alot. I’m loving the humor in it. Aren’t cults just so fun to write about?
