I have just watched zietgiest addendum so the controlled info theme is still embedded on my brain.

What inspired this piece is that my local NPR station, KUOW, is doing their pledge drive. During the broadcast, one of the hosts said, “Reach deep into your phone… uh wallet…” and from there the story grew.
