Postcards from Long Ago 3

“…and that’s how I got this scar. Ever since that day I’ve felt sick. My grandma died a few months later, and my grandpa kept researching until he withered away about a year later.” I put the postcard away. “But, daddy,” she protests, “what was in the dish?” I search through my briefcase and pull out a postcard. It shows my great grandfather at the release of his first invention: a primitive computer. “Well, my paternal figures had always been interested in science…”
