Norah took a breath. “Not literally of course. He works all night and sleeps all day…He didn’t used to, but we moved here and—I was the one who wanted to come back. I’ve killed him in the worst way. I’ve killed his happiness.”
Ben searched his mind. It wasn’t her fault, but what could he tell her? Say ten “Hail Marys”? No. This was entirely different.
“I think you should come for counseling.” Ben begged forgiveness for his selfishness. “I will see you Monday at four o’clock, Norah Rigby.”
