Well, I tend to think that the first kiss is the means by which boy and girl express their feelings for each other—a declaration of shared feelings, a declaration that they are going to share them with each other, making them “together for real”. But yes, I know what you mean.

(I try not to plan too far ahead in ficly writing because it either leads to disappointment or to making the other writer feel unwanted when you try to wrench it back to “your” plan.)
