The Orphanage 2 (edited ficlet)
They sat quietly in the room, they were all dirty, skinny, and had poor nutrition. Marco, (15) a blonde, tall boy hunched in the corner staring at nothing in particular. Sophia, (14) a strong, brave girl stood by the tiny window, looking out at the woods. Aleena, (14) a redheaded, irritable girl sat looking through a small box containing everything she owned. Lucas, (13) a shy, but humorous boy, sat looking over Aleenas shoulder, who was getting annoyed with him being so close to her. Abigail, (14) the one who had been there for only two years, was very smart, was sitting with her head down, trying to sleep. And Fay, (15) always cheerful and hopeful, though she had been there the longest and was in worse condition than the rest, and was always trying to think of a way out, and was sitting drawing diagrams with her finger in the dirt on the floor. Fay finished, looked it over, then a smile spread across her face. She broke the silence by clearing her throat. Everyone looked up at her.
“I’ve got it this time.”
