Big subjects to tackle in 1024 characters, but you do a good job here conveying the feelings both of the outraged father and the frustrated headteacher.
I like it – its a typical reaction of ‘us’ and ‘them’ that is sadly too common in today’s society… hope you don’t mind but I’ve re-read it a different way and written a sequel as such…
I agree with THX, it starts at home. This brings up the “which restroom” question all over again (in my head). Here, they vetoed allowing cross-dressing men to use the women’s room. No one said anything about secret/hidden hermaphrodites, nor cross-dressing women. Your story is quite relevant to the time, yet something we are not ready to face.
