A New Buddy
We went back to my place, where Cindy Lou went into the bathroom and let Vera out. After she showered and dressed, she came back out and smiled shyly at us. “Thanks for your help, both of you.”
“Are you going to be all right?” I asked.
“I think so. It might even be a way to get even closer to my boyfriend.” She blushed. “I don’t know what he’s going to say when I tell him, though.”
Cindy Lou grinned. “He might just decide he likes you better that way. For some reason, men seem to like having a girl they can go out with wherever they want but not have to worry about the rest of the time.”
“I’ll try to put it to him that way,” Vera said.
After she had gone, I turned to Cindy Lou. “Now what? Back inside?”
She shook her head. “No, I think we need see what Dr. Voor thinks he’s doing. And I think I’d better be ‘out’ for this, or I might end up giving you indigestion.”
When I saw all the couples lined up in front of the place, and the big sign reading “Couples Night! Free Yogurt!” I was inclined to agree.
