Dream Fulfillment Part Nine (bucket list) Final

He took my glass out of my hand and placed it on the table so he could take both my hands in his. Our eyes locked.

I wasn’t afraid.

I trusted him.

And this astonished me.

In that trust, came strength. We laid our tired bodies down beside each other for one last night. The only thing that would have made it more perfect would have been a view of the stars.

“You know I’m here for you.” I stated the obvious to break the comfortable silence.
“You know I will always love you,” he returned.

“I think, we just said the same thing.”
“Yeah.”

Then it was his turn to break the silence, “Do you think we could ever be together?”

“I think we will never be apart.”

“That is some charisma,” he marveled.
“That is some irony,” I corrected him.

We drifted off to sleep, companionable, comfortable in the truth and blissfully happy.
