Hunter: Getting Up

“Carlie, you need to get up. We’ve let you sleep for as long as you could, but you need to get up now.” I snorted and rolled over, but they grabbed my shoulders and hauled my off the floor. I wavered hesitantly for a minute, then steadied. I stared at the person who had woken me up, ‘cause I didn’t recognize him. He grabbed my arm and started walking, and I being all confused and sleepy, let him lead me to the kitchen. There, I crashed into the sink and ended up with my head in a sinkful of soapy, warm water.

“DUDE! Epic fail!” Came a burst of laughter, and then I heard a smack. Jason had come in, and he smacked the guy I didn’t recognize, who in turn pouted nd turned to the coffee machine. He punched it, and it started making weird noises. Then he started cursing at it. Jason tossed me a towel while I stared, dumbfounded, at the guy who was cursing out and beating up a coffee machine.

I dried off my face and went over to a chair that was randomly sitting there in the organized chaos of a kitchen. I sat.
