The devil's Day

Dear Diary,

It’s that time of year again.

I look as all the poor fools walk around in the night. Dressed as demons and other evil figments of the imagination.

Or is it imagination?

They decorate their houses with such evil things, smiling and taking delight in it. The wise take no part. They know the consequence.

Its amusing how these fools beleive all this evil is good because of the candy and fun they’re having. That’s the plainest lure the devil has to offer. Yet, it works everytime.

So with all their evil decorations up; and their stomach’s full of candy. I watch as one by one they all head go home. I smile for it is time to claim my own.

I boldly walk the streets in search of houses that have my markings on them.

My demons.
My shadows.
My darkness.

I visit each and everyone of those houses and claim my own. Thousands of souls; all across the world are now mine. Fore this halloween, I am claiming all my deranged followers.

Best halloween ever? I think so.

Oh so sincerely,

satan

This is interesting and made me smile, b/ I also have an interest in Satan as a character, and growing up, my Baptist mom forbid me to participate in halloween since she thought it “celebrated the devil”. An unorthodox upbringing, I assure you.

Some constructive criticism: if this Satan happily uses Halloween as an opportunity to claim souls, I don’t think the sentence “I take no part. I know the consequence,” makes a lot of sense…. consider reworking it.

If you’re aiming for a devil character like Memnoch, from Anne Rice’s “Memnoch the Devil” (don’t know if you’ve read that – he’s essentially a reluctant devil… I won’t give a full description here), I think you’ll need to go deeper and develop the character & its motives more.

Hope you find this constructive. Cheers!

Oops that was a mistake! I was going to start with a different idea and then changed it! Thanks for pointing that out!
