it’s hard to write when you miss your friends
when they were the muses and life of your words

it’s hard to write when every hour is spent working
when coming home there is barely time to eat and sleep

it’s hard to write when your heart is aching
when you feel like everything you’ve stored up is gone

it’s hard to write when you’ve given all you’ve got
when no one listens and no one sees the towel thrown in

it’s hard to write when no one believes in you
when encouragement and triumph are but a whisper

Yet if you don’t, you will not live for long
your life’s essence will seep out and no page will catch it

That last line in the grand redeemer, isn’t it! By and large, this is an enjoyable piece, but not extraordinary.

But then……that last line reaches out and slaps you with awesomewickedincrediblezanywowness and makes me read the whole thing again.

lol, well, I wasn’t trying to be awesome, just trying to write SOMETHING so that I got the juices flowing again. Your compliment is humbling, thanks.

I love the last two lines :D It’s easy to forget how satisfying writing can be when you haven’t done it (recreationally) in a while.

Which is why we writers have to just WRITE. I don’t care if what comes out is crap at first, a warm up that feels like wordvomit. Once you begin, loosen up, it all comes so much easier. If you at least try to write something everyday, it will be so much easier to get the flow back.
