I don’t feel much,
Don’t feel as such,
Don’t feel your touch
When I’m drunk enough -
A clever bluff
That you believe,
That I deceive
You with.

And I’m surprised
This compromise
Has lasted long
Enough for us
To trust
The truth as lies
And vice versa.

I don’t feel much,
Don’t feel as such,
Don’t feel your touch
When I’m drunk enough -
And when you’re rough
I just lay there
And you don’t care
A bit.

Very lyrical. I like how it builds with repetition and rhyme— chalk full of rhyme (internal, imperfect, and perfect) and language devices. Song-like.

I see it from the viewpoint of someone in a somewhat poor, maybe unhealthy, relationship heading for a confrontation. I don’t know if there’s another way to see it. For now, all of these resentments are bottled up, just lying there letting it happen. Maybe that means it’s a fairly new couple. It’s all specualation… idk for sure… anywise, good job.

the enjambment and stanza breaks were brilliant – the whole poem has a disoriented and spiteful feel to it. well done!

Whoa there, partner, hold up!
