Ficly

Gardens by the bay

The wind makes my feet easier to lift;
It presses against my skirt
and shapes me a butt two thighs.

The steps are almost too easy too light
but you won’t have mastered them until
the nose doesn’t leak anymore, the eyes don’t smart.
You’ll know when you can breathe
smoking an invisible cigarette
In
Out
drown yourself in smoke
and tears that run obediently in their banks.

You can, for now
just watch me from your cosy restaurant behind the glass
the street lights hide my tears.
All I want to do is swim
Among the melted city lights in the river.
