The Last Reading

I was getting ready for school, when I felt this overwhelming urge to do a tarot reading. I was already running late, but… It was just social studies first period, and G.I. Jane was the biggest pain-in-the-ass teacher. So, I sat down at my desk and pulled out my tarot cards.

I shuffled, and placed the deck before me. Eyes closed, I drew the top three cards and lay them face down before me.

Then things got weird.

I turned over the first card – The Sun.

The first thing I noticed was it was inverted. There was no way it should be upside-down. Not in my deck. The second thing I notice was my room became considerably darker. Like the sun went behind a cloud, though it was a perfectly clear day.

Second card – The Moon.

It became darker still. I looked out the window. There wasn’t supposed to be an eclipse today, but there it was. People were yelling outside. Panic was already starting to set in. What the hell was going on? I was scared.

Hands shaking, I turned over the third card.

Death.

Crap.
