“Right now? Put as much distance between the body in that alley and us as possible,” Sera said.

“I think I have an even better idea,” James said, and turned a corner. “I think the first thing that we need to do is change your appearance.” he said. “I don’t think that guy was working alone, and driving around in his car undisguised is a great way to stand out like a sore thumb. Besides, that had to leave a mark when you hit him.”

“Jamie, if you put one of those stupid ‘go fast enough and you’ll get airborne’ wings on me, I WILL run you over,” Sera growled.

“Relax, I think those look idiotic too,” he replied. Fifteen minutes later, he was walking out of a body shop, grinning.

“I should be worried by the look on your face,” she said.

“No, not at all. He’s got one of these on a salvage title, hit in the front, so that’s a new VIN, rear panels, and interior. We’re going to put those on, along with some metallic grey paint and new wheels. By noon tomorrow, not even the DMV will be able to recognize you.”
