Crunch

Amy recalled the instruction she was given for the device and that it may be uncomfortable at first, but, it seemed to be getting tighter somehow. She dismissed the thought and decided to try and get some rest. She propped up her pillows to try and make sleeping sitting up as comfortable as possible. As she sat there, eyes heavy and ready for sleep, a pain shot through her jaw. Again, she dismissed it as just getting used to the device. Then, another pain. This time she was jolted completely awake. Something is wrong, she thought. Another pain and her hands went to her head. She screamed loudly, but nobody was home; her parents were out having a date night. More pain and the sound of bone cracking and she screamed more and began to thrash about, desperately trying to remove the device. She fell from the bed flailing, trying to free herself, but couldn’t. The device was getting tighter and tighter. More cracking sounds, then nothing. Darkness.
