Questions of conveyance.
“Now wait a second.” Janus turned to Lauren. “We’re outside of what appears to be a damn castle in Russia, and we have to figure out a way to get that” -motioning to the item- “to a city six thousand miles away.”
“What?” Lauren asked. “It’s not like we can’t lift it and get it into town, and once we get there we can steal a truck. It’s not like you haven’t hotwired a car before. After that, the only problem is crossing the ocean with it.”
Janus did not look convinced, but nonetheless picked up one end of the case. Lauren picked up the other, and they left the client’s manor. The case did get them some strange looks in the town, but given the time there were few people about.
Once they had found a secluded location to hide the item, Janus left to find a truck. While she waited, Lauren kept watch over the item … she started to worry, Janus had been gone a long time … but no sooner had the thought occurred than Janus made her way to the curb.
“Ready?” Janus asked.
“Ready.” Lauren confirmed.
