Not all Christians have the one-eyed view of rednecks like the one in Sophia’s story. Like so many other instances in society, the smaller, noisier minority that decides to “spread the word” gives everyone else a bad impression.
This form of sexual-preferenceism (no matter in who’s name you practice it) is just as bad as racism, sexism, ageism, or any other ism you can care to think of or invent.
I know I’m talking to others who probably are already in agreeance with me, but I wanted to get it out.
I understand what you feel. Often times, even in the gay community, I get ragged on for believing in God and still having open views on sexual preference. I love my Emily dearly and personally I think that if there is a God, he or she would understand that.
