The Future Isn't So Bright
My parents have been telling me since I was a child that I was special, that there were evil people who wanted to capture me; use me as a lab rat. The Organization, my parents called them, are not friendly. It was the day we got our hovercar that they attacked for the first time. I was so excited that I jumped up and down until I made the leaves of the summer trees float around me, dancing in joy.
“Calm down, Ayden. You mustn’t draw attention to us. RoSecurity may be watching,” my mother said to me, smacking the leaves to the ground. My father slowly got into a crouched position and made no noise. Suddenly we were surrounded by mysterious men in black robot suits holding glowing swords.
That ambush opened the eyes of my parents. After they did all they could to fend them off, to only end up escaping to the nearest teleporting pad, they decided I wasn’t safe living the rest of my life a lie. They finally told me about my DNA alteration. The one that caused my telekinesis.
