Usually I would argue that such language is unneccessary, but actually, that opening line shocked me. And that’s what you wanted. And that is good.
So I can’t really complain, can I?
The fact it’s backed up by a decent, funny little storyline makes it even better. A humdinger of an exorcist – but I think the couple would be a little more taken aback by the guy’s foul mouth than is written…
Thank you very much for the fantastic review! Yes, I thought about making them more shocked at this young boy’s language, but then I thought: “Hey! Perhaps this is set several years into the future, and society’s adults have gotten used to the foul language most kids use these days.” Or perhaps I didn’t have enough room to incorperate it. Who knows?! =P
Also, I modelled Hunter’s bad potty mouth on Ben Kingsley’s use of profanity in Sexy Beast: how he uses it without a moment’s consideration and just makes a pattern of his speech.
Bdumpa-OOO! Last line was hilarious. Along with the unexpected twist. I really thing Hunter is a little too forceful. One of the most forceful characters I’ve seen. But that’s not saying he’s bad. I could probably come to like this guy. Sounds angry though. xD
