They were warned

The blackened earth seemed to curl and peel as soon as he descended from his higher plane. “This world was not meant for this,” he thought. He bent down and pulled some of the dirt from the surface and caressed it through his fingers. Instantly the dirt which was charred and black began to moisturize and grow fertile. Immediately, a sprout began to grow. He waited a few seconds to let the sapling grow a little bit longer before he placed it back down on the ground.

Even though a tiny green leaf was small and light enough to fit in your hand, the earth trembled under it’s weight. “Why did you let it come to this?” he asked to the air.

“They were warned,” a sound followed which then transformed to a figure just like him only feet away. “You knew that once you gave the go ahead.”

“That was Isyldor’s doing, not mine.”

“Either way, we can start anew,” the second figure smiled.

The sapling expanded, grass began to grow under their feet. Billions of people’s ashes transformed into new fertile soil.
