Very clever though, I like the tone, it reminds me of some of Jeffrey Archer’s short stories -concise but well-plotted. Early on, however, you mean ‘according’ instead of ‘accord’. Thanks for entering, MH :)

I wanted to mention his true nationality earlier in the story because a lot of people don’t know what the St Andrews cross is.

I like this too…I wish you would change the and symbol to the actual word, but other than that, this made me smile. I had a friend from England and then Georgia who made us guess where she was from…combined British/Southern accent = really hard to figure out…

glad you like it, the reason I use the “&” symbol is to save on character usage.
Quite often when I write these stories I have found I am over the limit and using the ampersand is a good way to save a couple of characters.
I don’t think I’ve ever used the symbol in real life tho.
