Duffy, a Lost Soul...

Rain.
It falls, just like I do. It welts the ground, the earth. The earth takes the rain in, though. So, I suppose I’m more like fossil water. Once you use it, you’ll never see it again. Of course, you could also say I’m like a unicorn, but… that sounds a little fruity.
A sigh. Oh well. There are more important things to be done than attempting to compare myself to something. I wonder if anyone will find me here.

On the outside of the locker, girls laughed, giggles filled the locker, like hawks cawing from mountain to mountain.
Duffy just let out a breath and braced herself as she tried to push her way out.
I wonder if, somewhere, there is a world that’s waiting for me. A different one from here. A place where nothing but how you feel matters.
But Duffy didn’t let out a sound. She didn’t cry for help, no one noticed—for the entire year—that she was gone. Not one person realized.
The next year, a Freshman opened her new locker, filled with the decaying body of Duffy- who was now in a whole new world.
