The Guitarist #4
“So, what are we practicing today, boss?” Johnny, the lead singer and rhythm guitarist in the band, said.
“I told you not to call me that” Vince said.
“Whatever you say… boss” Johnny said, grinning and barely concealing a chuckle, before taking a sip of his coffee.
Vince glared at him.
“We definitely need to practice ‘The Only Thing’, because it has been kicking our asses live. After that, I thought we would just jam a little. Carla wants me home early tonight” Vince said.
“Ok, sounds good to me” Johnny replied.
Vince first met Johnny when they were 4, and they had been best friends ever since. When Vince had decided to start a band, Johnny was the first person he called. When Vince told him about it, Johnny had responded with his usual child-like enthusiasm. He always had this impish glint in his eyes. When Vince saw that glint, he knew Johnny was going to get in some kind of trouble. And Vince knew he would be right there beside him the whole way.
