The Horde
The onslaught was overwhelming and there were far more than any of us had anticipated. They poured out of every hole, crevasse, door and ditch within sight and where all staggering and limping directly towards.
The moan was mind numbing.
Charging in a half brave half insane fashion, Jason practically dove into the throng of walking dead. The sounds of his chainsaw tearing through flesh and bone was scarring at best. I put the crowbar I had to good use for the first few seconds but it wasn’t long before I could feel arms grabbing at me from every direction. I turned to see the face of an old neighbor try to bite a sizable chunk out of my arm but to my relief, Alec landed a well placed blow to her skull with his shovel. Mere moments later, he was overwhelmed and there was nothing I could do but watch. His scream echoed within my ears.
’We’re all dead’ was all that ran through my mind. Alec was dead, Lindsey was gone and I could hear the chainsaw idling behind me. I was all alone. So I ran.
