Shoot for the Moon

Oswald B. Freedman’s mind was racing. He was excited, terrified, and overjoyed all at the same time. The unknown had beckoned and he answered. It’s not everyday the moon gets colonized and his adventurous spirit couldn’t possibly say no.

Col. Garrett was far more relaxed than the young engineer beside him. He had been in space before and he had certainly taken the trip up the elevator before. Hell, the elevator was a monthly occurrence for him.

Sun, quiet and complacent as always, was quietly standing in contemplation of the events to come. The history of man leads up to this place in time, this momentous occasion. It was hers to share with her three elevator companions and fourteen other brave souls already on the platform.

Two of these three individuals were hand-selected by the newly founded ISEC to spearhead the colonization of Earths nearest extra-terrestrial neighbor. Little did they know the third last minute replacement would break-down and endanger them all.
