Dance with My Demon
Swirling, Whirling, Twirling
 Our bodies intertwined
My breath with the lack of his
 My heart pounds
But nothing resonates from within him
My sweating palms locked within his clammy hands
I rest my head upon his stone-like shoulder
But I don’t dare look him in the eye
As I dance with my Demon tonight
Oh, Those eyes!
 I can feel them
 Boring into my skin
 Cold and lifeless
I don’t need to see them
To know the shining black orbs
Whose gaze never move from my pulsing form
I don’t dare look him in the eye
As I dance with my Demon tonight
I take the lead
Starting a series of intricate moves
Faster and faster, I don’t think I’ll last much longer
 But he falters…and trips
 He tripped
Gaining confidence I take hold of his hand
 I pull him up
I look him in the eye
As I dance with my Demon tonight
He begins to shrink
 Becoming smaller and smaller
 He’s nothing now
 My fears are alleviated
I no longer have need to worry
I looked my fears in the eye
 And now they’re vanquished
 And nothing but dust
As I dance with my fears tonight
