Raindrops on Sunday Mornings

I woke up to the rain pounding on the roof and window panes . Pushing myself up, I wrapped the sheets tighter around me and shivered from the cool rain air. Goosebumps broke out over my naked skin, as I rose from my bed. I walked to the window and watched the rain come down in heavy torrents, blocking out the forest. My thoughts had drifted away like a leaf swept away on a river.

A muscular arm snaked around my waist, snapping me out of my daze. Firm lips plant a soft kiss on my temple. I turned my head and caught his lips with my own, his long black hair brushed against my eyelids.

Breaking apart, he produced two cigarettes and a lighter. I smiled and took one between my lips. He lit both of the smokes and took in a long drag. I followed suit, letting the smoke fill my lungs and let out a smoke ring. I turned back to the window, and watched the smoke dance with the rain.
