A lesson in loyalty
“I don’t like your tone of voice Jonas.” Suddenly Jonas couldn’t speak, he couldn’t even open his mouth. His mouth wouldn’t budge. Jonas tried to scream, all that came was muffled cries. “I think you may need to be taught a lesson in loyalty Jonas.” The Colonel’s voice was calm, cold, methodical.
Jonas had no control over his body. He couldn’t understand it. Slowly his left hand reached down to his holster, Jonas lifted his gun up to his nose just underneath his nostrils which made the tip of the gun barrel warm from each breath.
Jonas tried to scream out again, but no sound came. Jonas then cocked his gun.
“What do you have to say for yourself?” The Colonel asked. For effect the Colonel clenched his teeth to make Jonas’ grip tighter around the gun.
Instantly, Jonas opened his mouth, large heaping breaths came as tears now streamed down his cheeks. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” was all that Jonas kept repeating.
“Good,” the Colonel smiled, “You’re forgiven.”
