The last sentence is perfect, the line before it feels a little weak. It uses the passive voice to presumably kill man and the phrase thunderous boom and deafening crash a) are close to the same thing and b) remind me of old disney movies that use drums and cymbals for sound effects. The middle three paragraphs are pretty good and setup everything the end.

The funniness got me. Well told whimsical story.

And yeah, now that I think about it, Robert does have a point there.
