#88 Footprints on the Moon
When I asked my mama
What I should be when I grew up,
What I could be,
How much of a person I could
Possibly hope to
Become?
She said “The sky’s the limit,
Darling, and don’t you forget it.
Don’t let anyone pull down
Your aeroplane.”
I followed what my mama
Said till I was six years old.
Then I looked up at the
Silken stars and saw them
Looking back at me, and
I went to my mama
I said
Don’t tell me the sky is the limit,
When there are footprints
On the moon.
