The Water comes from your Mind
The troll’s grasp on me was light, only needing the slightest contact to work its magic. The sights passing before my eyes were taunting, laughing at, making me feel worthless. It’s meant to scare victims into suicide, but it merely motivated me more.
Gathering willpower, I broke the bond and jumped into the Water. The troll had exposed my mind, and now my mind was getting rinsed in Water.
“Ha! Bet you weren’t expecting that, were you, whoever you are!” I cry.
“What? What did you do that’s special, besides from jumping in a river?”
“I’m not sure, all I know is you shouldn’t have expected it.”
“Who do you think you are, getting Water on my best loincloth?”
“Umm… I don’t quite know. Tell you what, If I find out, I’ll tell you, OK?”
“I have a better idea, you stand there, and I do troll stuff to you that will make you suffer a bit more, OK?”
It reached over and brushed my cheek. It staggered backwards, alarmed.
“What are you?”
“Not quite sure. Is this what suffering is? It just feels normal.”
