The Headaches

The headaches hadn’t gone away. Marcus tried for several days but they kept getting worse. He would down a bottle of Tylenol 3’s in a day, and yet the pounding continued.

Marcus laid on his bed in the dark, his ear plugs in and a wet cloth over his eyes. Yet still the constant “THUMP THUMP THUMP” of his brain wouldn’t stop. Marcus was at his wits end but he couldn’t do the alternative. Marcus knew that, his wife knew that, even his peers knew that. He knew that he wouldn’t be able to live with himself if he just gave up.

He was able to control it for a while, but ever since the incident 3 months ago when he fell. His self control was almost gone.

Marcus struggled as he held his head in his hands and thrashed on the bed. The pounding was getting louder and louder and louder. Marcus couldn’t hold it anymore. He had to let it free.

With a flash of light from his eyes, Marcus let go and the beast inside him took form. His wife was the first of millions to die by his hands.
