Balloons in Space
The trio of balloons soared up against the matte blue sky, embracing their freedom with unabashed enthusiasm. Shimmering in the sunlight, they flew higher, their handles dragged behind like little red mice tails.
Below, two children stared up in awe at their inspired creation racing towards the skyline.
“Do you think it will make it to space?” one said, adorned with scruffy brown hair, freckles and cargo shorts.
“Of course not, silly. Balloons all pop, eventually” his female companion responded. Her chubby features made a quick face, scrunching up in dismissal before poking a cheeky tongue out.
“Besides, everybody knows only spaceships are allowed in space”
