Not as strong as the other two, but maybe by design. This is a description of rest, where the other installments were tension builders.

The word “rapid” in the second paragraph feels out of pace. Maybe “quickened” or “thumping” or something more descriptive.

I’m definitely going to be following this story all the way through, however. Keep it up!

This reminds me of Fahrenheit 451 except in first person.

I like this a lot and after reading other comments, realize that I’ve come in somewhere in the middle. I need to see what I’ve missed, if I can find them. Regardless, I liked this and want to know what is going on. At first I thought t was a runner out for a midnight jog, but the telephone call puts me in mind of spies a la Mission Impossible. Nice work with this.
